Open some space in the kitchen for fresh corn on the cob...and more!

There's nothing like fresh corn on the cob, plus squash or puimpkin pies. Don't worry about making a crust for the pies. Call it a pumpkin pudding.

This year, 2021, is year #15 for the Española Farmers Market blog!

Visit the Española Farmers Market blog and see how far we have come over the years. It's recorded in our blog postings and photos and videos. There have been years when people have come from many miles away to celebrate holidays like the upcoming Labor Day at the Española market. And they're asking questions, like,
A blog is a treasure. It's a documentary record of where we have been and the paths we're still carving out in the unknown.

July is a high point in the growing season in Northern New Mexico. . .

Here is a blast from our past— a video from last year's season in the height of the summer markets. A video from 2015 at the Española Farmers Market in the height of the summer growing season.

There's nothing like the present day to plan for dishes to treat friends and family members...

We have produce fresh from the earth. It's nothing like produce that has been shipped thousands of miles before sitting on a shelf in some supermarket. Visit the Española Farmers Market and prepare fresh fruit and produce for meals that will be remembered. This is great news. And make 2021 the year that you collect and assemble recipes, Northern New Mexico style, that can be passed on to future generations. Watch people of all ages smile...

There are so many ways to prepare fresh squash from the Española Farmers Market. . .

What about a recipe book that just features squash, grown in Northern New Mexico... the way your grandparent or parent cooked it. If you're looking for a gift for the next generation, think about making a recipe book of dishes that have pleased generations in your family. You can pass on the recipes in handwriting. Or go to the limit with a printed recipe book as a fundraiser. Here is one example. Think about it. A vintage recipe book will be treassured for generations.
If you'd like to share a recipe on the Española Farmers Market blog, tell someone at the market table on Monday, and we'll see what we can do to make sure it is shared with a wider audience. Turn fresh produce into dishes that friends and family members rave about.

The Española Farmers Market is gearing up for the season!

Here is an example of the many resources out there for New Mexicans and their farmers' markets!

Are you looking for a homemade gift that will be treasured today and well into the future? Pass on your great recipes to the next generation and beyond.

What about a cookbook that features the fresh produce bought at the Española Farmers Market? Think about it. You can even raise funds for your family or organization by printing your own cookbook, Northern New Mexico style.

We're hoping to make available some of the special events you can expect at the Española Farmers Market. The pandemic has made many changes and gradually we're settling into a new routine. We'll keep you posted as we find out more.

We've been open for the season since Monday, June 7th in 2021.

Yes, we're keeping up with the changing requirements and the good news is that we're optimistic as ever about this season moving forward.

People from all over the world have shared some of our memories of the Española Farmers Market. Here's a trailer from "Films for Change," an international film platform during 2020.

The farmers market's volunteers and staff are getting ready for the 2021 growing season!

We have been publishing about each market's growing seasons since 2007.

Some things don't change. Like the preparation for the annual Española Farmers Market season.

The grounds must be maintained, new policies set into place, and everybody notified about what's to happen during the growing season. And without our regular and new customers, it wouldn't be the same.

Think of how you count on the market to bring home produce that's fresh and loved from the moment a seed is placed in the ground. Think of how you count on seeing friends, old and new!

And mark your calendar for Monday, June 7, 2021. That is our opening day!

We had a great 2020 season at the farmers market, considering all the guidelines!

The 2020 Española Farmers' Market was unique, like none other. It's part of our history now. We've been visible and active for years in Northern New Mexico. The farmers' market is something we're all proud of— people show up and are thrilled with the old and they are prepared for the new. The market doesn't happen without love and spirit. As long as the folks of Northern New Mexico stand behind their farmers' market, it will continue. It may sound peculiar that we had a great year in 2020 with all of the uncertainty and challenges associated with COVID19. We pulled together and pulled off a market that many are saying was "great," considering everything. Thank you, and everyone, for making 2020 a season to remember!
