Winding Down from the 2019 Española Farmers Market...

We appreciate our volunteers and staff. Appreciation to Norma Navarro and Patricia Putnam for assistance and Marguerite Kearns for the market blog. It's Autumn at the Española Farmers Market!

NNMC COMMERCIAL KITCHEN: The NNMC Commercial Kitchen is open under the aegis of NNMC. The market has not been able to revive the Jams and Jellies Cooperative. It is possible to obtain a home processing permit from the NMED for cooking jams and jellies. Market staff can assist with the application.

It's now when shoppers make sure that they have food to set aside for the upcoming holidays when it's still fresh and appetizing.

Another season is coming to a close at the Española Farmers Market. Make sure you've had your fill of the treats and special offerings, fresh from the fields.

October is coming soon!

The market closes its doors in the latter part of October. This is a reminder to start thinking about getting over to the market on Mondays, ten to five. Here are some highlights of other markets and their memories preserved.

UPDATE ABOUT THE DUFB PROGRAM:

We continue the Double Up Food Bucks Program (DUFB) this summer season. Vendors redeemed $11,804 in DUFB redemptions in 2018. The guidelines are the same. Customers have been purchasing fruits and vegetables with the distinctive DUFB tokens. Eligible vendors have signed up for this program. For more information, ask at the market headquarters booth on market days.

The Española Farmers Market won first prize for a a state market. The awards ceremony was in January of 2019 in Santa Fe. And our blog won first prize from New Mexico Press Women. Nationally, our blog came in third. That's a lot of recognition!
